In the effort to go ever faster to get things we want done, if we really look at it, it's about saying no to those things that don't move our progress forward. To be distracted with unrelated matters is the same as stopping. Stopping is worse than going slow, because no matter how fast you go to catch up, you won't be able to go fast enough. Steady and consistent must be the pace, and that takes focus.
Keeping promises is hard. It requires us to do things we don't want to do. But keep those promises you must do. Otherwise, do not make them in the first place. But since you have made them, you must keep them, especially if it would benefit all those involved including yourself.
